چکیده

Abstract Background Recent research indicates that endocanabinoids (eCB) and heart rate variability (HRV) are associated with stress-induced experiences. However, these underlying mechanisms have not been elucidated. Purpose The aim of the present study is to investigate if exposure acute chronic stress promotes measurable changes concurrently peripheral eCB ligands HRV. Methods 13 candidates under intense preparation for their enlistment in Hellenic Navy SEALs (H.N.S.) participated study. All subjects underwent mental state examination, while HRV variables time frequency domains recordings were acquired. Furthermore, at baseline 30 days after prolonged intensive physical exercise hair collected order measure ligands, such as anandamide (AEA), 2-arachidonoylglycerol (2-AG), N-acyl ethanolamine (NAE) molecules: palmitoylethanolamide (PEA) oleoylethanolamide (OEA). Results Comparing basal concentrations before exercise, we found AEA, PEA OEA notably increased (p<0.01, p<0.05 p<0.01 respectively) whereas no differences observed regarding ligand 2-AG. Regarding domain features HRV, a strong positive correlation was between mean HR, AEA [r(13)=0.934, p<0.05, (r(13)=0.902, p<0.05]. domain, negative low (LF) (r(13)=−0.853, p<0.01). No statistically significant associations noted high EC ligands. Conclusions These findings suggest endocannabinoid-HRV interrelations might share short-term, long-term adaptability self-regulation stress. Further studies required determine validity signaling biomarker different aspects response. Funding Acknowledgement Type funding sources: Public grant(s) – National budget only. Heart rate variability in Mangalarga Marchador horses after physical exercise

The aim of this study was to evaluate the influence of physical exercise (marcha gait) on heart rate variability indices in Mangalarga Marchador horses. Twenty-five animals, fourteen females and eleven males, aged 6.4 ± 2.7 years and with a mean weight of 428.3 ± 24.7 kg, were used. Electrocardiograms were recorded at two different time points: rest and immediately after exercise (40 min of aer...

Heart Rate Variability During Physical Exercise

Heart rate variability (HRV) is the present oscillation of the heart rate. The interest in HRV as a parameter of the parasympathetic and sympathetic influence of the autonomic nervous system on the heart has increased in the last few decades (Kaikkonen et al., 2007). It is known that its influence changes under different conditions such as rest, exercise or mental stress and different body post...

Effect of Exercise Training on Heart Rate Variability in Patients with Heart Failure After Percutaneous Coronary Intervention

Background: This study aims to evaluate the effect of exercise training on heart rate variability (HRV) and to determine the correlation between parameters of HRV and the ejection fraction in patients with heart failure after percutaneous coronary intervention.Material and Methods: Fifty patients with left ventricular ejection fraction ≤ 40% undergone percutaneous coronary intervention were r...

Heart rate recovery after exercise: relations to heart rate variability and complexity.

Physical exercise is associated with parasympathetic withdrawal and increased sympathetic activity resulting in heart rate increase. The rate of post-exercise cardiodeceleration is used as an index of cardiac vagal reactivation. Analysis of heart rate variability (HRV) and complexity can provide useful information about autonomic control of the cardiovascular system. The aim of the present stud...

Prolonged decrease in heart rate variability after elective hip arthroplasty.

The pattern of postoperative heart rate variability may provide insight into the response of the autonomic nervous system to anaesthesia and surgery. We have obtained spectral (fast Fourier transform) and non-spectral indices of heart rate variability from electrocardiographic recordings, sampled during continuous perioperative Holter monitoring in 15 otherwise healthy patients with an uncompli...
